Can I make a strawberry apple crisp with a strawberry jam type thing (fruit spread) ? Recipe calls for pie filling.. what do u think?

I always make apple pie with some spoons of apricot preserves mixed in. It kind of melts in and just gives it a nice taste and texture.

I dice apples with cinnamon/sugar/lemon juice and slice frozen strawberries. Sometime I use blueberry preserves which is basically jam with pieces instead of the strawberries and it comes out yum. I’d imagine whatever you use will be tasty... I know my sisters use cherry pie filling, apple pie filling, etc. and l varieties I’ve tasted always taste yummy
