Where in Brooklyn can I get Grab N Go Meals that are not premade. My kids won’t eat the ready made food or sandwitches.

Have you tried the public school meals? There are a number of Brooklyn locations on the list.

Public school meals are sandwiches. I think most places give ready meals.

Satmar 82 gives boxes 3 times a week with mostly raw foods but you have to have kids in the school.

Belz on Dahill is giving mostly ingredients, rather than packaged lunches. I think they give Sunday, Tuesday and Friday but I'm not 100% sure. They changed things around so non-students go after students.

The public school meals will give a container of chummus or tuna and a little roll on the side. Its not a ready made sandwich. They also give yogurt, muffins, cereal and milk, etc so it may be what op is looking for, she would need to go pick it up and see if her kids will eat it.

Veretzky may have the food op is looking for as well as the one time I was there they had lots of options to pick from instead of ready made sandwiches.

For breakfast they give loose items. For lunch and dinner, it's a sandwich.

Many times it comes frozen which ruins the food. Just a warning.

There’s a place on Avenue P right before Flatbush Avenue that is giving out. I think it’s 4205 Ave P, it’s a big building. It’s not just for kids and there wasn’t a line according to someone I know who went. I don’t remember what they gave but it was decent and substantial. Distribution is Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday between 11 and 1.

It's more like bits of stuff to make meals. Lunches are usually =

Container of veggies (little carrots or tomatoes)
A roll
Milk
A container of chumus, egg salad or tuna salad

Breakfast is usually =

Yogurt
Fruit (apple/orange)
Cereal or muffin
Milk or juice

So if one kid is into apples and another won't touch anything that's not cereal and milk, you can split the packages among the kids once you get home.

You can also add the veggies to salads or have the kids dip stuff in the chumus - basically if a kid likes the whole meal, great. If not, you can think of it as extra groceries to work with.

Also, you can take meals for the adults, too.

I have never gotten frozen food or sandwiches from the public school. Which location do you pick your meals up from that they have frozen food or sandwiches?

It's different things every day. Usually milk, juice, sometimes fresh fruits n veggies, canned pickles, sometimes bread or challah, sometimes cooked kugel or chicken or string beans, once there was Kleins sorbet, once or twice chick peas, maybe hot dogs, sometimes there's snacks. I don't pick up, I just heard from my neighbor.
They have an hour or two just for their students, and then an hour or two for the public. I don't know the hours but you can try Friday midday and pick up more info then.
