I might be stuck at home this summer with my 5 year old son. He's been having a difficult time being home already, and he goes crazy when he's bored.
What are some ideas of activities and things to keep him busy?

Plant a garden, water and weed it daily. Water balloons. Sprinkler. Designate a spot on the yard for him to dig with shovels and trucks, or fill a small kiddie pool with soil if you don’t have a yard. Arts n crafts. Bike riding. Scootering. Make letter or pictures to mail to friends or relatives. Work on a long term project together that you can spend 20 min a day on. Scavenger hunt in a park if you have one to go to.

Jewish Storytapes (jewishmusic.fm and Shabbat.com for Rabbi Juravel)
ABC Mouse (app is great - we use an ipad for it) - Teaches Abc's, numbers, history, reading comprehension etc.
Water play - with pool or without. Fill up spray bottles, give sponges, rags, buckets, sponja stick, different size containers etc, - give him things to clean like outdoor chairs, highchair little kids bike...
Baking Challah - teach him how to braid in different ways, make cinnamon buns/rugelach too
Crafts, coloring and worksheets
Good toys can keep them busy for hours - clics, playstix, straw toy, puzzles
Mattresses, cushions, pillows can be a great activity - building forts, obstacle courses
Outdoor play - riding bikes, chalk.
Running simple errands - like taking out garbage, bringing in mail, going to corner store (if you live in Israel)
Playing with other kids his age is also important
