We’re going away for the weekend Next week with our extended family and older kids are looking to make a carnival Shabbos afternoon for the younger kids.... any ideas of booths that can be done on Shabbos....?

I find the term carnival really not shabbosdik. Maybe you can find activities that are ok to do on Shabbos, like jump rope, hit the can, hide and seek, bingo, hopscotch with prepared stones, obstacle course and so on.

What a cute idea!
You can do so many carnival type booths on shabbos:
Penny in flour race- how many can each person find in one minute? Most pennys win
Licorice rope race- no hands! Whoever slurps it up first wins
Choc chips and marshmallow fluff- see if you can accurately say how many choc chips were on your spoon
Decorate cupcakes with frosting and lots of different types of sprinkles
Pillow case relay race
Have fun and enjoy your family!

Picking small items out of flour is borer. Pennies are muktza.
Cake decorating is also a question.

We've definitely asked about cookie decorating on shabbos (Not ok if you do it professionally, yes ok if your a kid and doing it for fun).

Ask your lor about this. Flour is actually mukza because it has no use raw on shabbos. Pennies are for sure mukza. Separating is also an issue.
