Long story short, we are very worried about my daughter who is almost 16. She is doing things that we are concerned about (just found some tiktok videos, didn't even know she had that app!) And we are trying to figure out what to do/how to handle the situation. (We've had other small situations, but we are worried about the direction this is going...) I fought against my natural urge to scream and lecture, just walked out of the room with her phone. But NOW WHAT? Who do I turn to? Who can I talk to about this? I desperately need a mentor/parenting expert to consult with but I don't know where to start. I've never developed a relationship with a Rebbetzin or anything, and I don't want to mess this up!
Thank you so much in advance

Search Avi Fishhoff "Twisted Parenting" on youtube.

He has a host of excellent parenting videos on Youtube, where he addresses those kinds of situations and worse...

I wouldn't contact Rabbi Wallerstein unless it's a real major issue and the girl is at risk. In my experience, he blows up every tiny problem into a huge big deal.

Op, not sure who is good to consult on this but can I get off track a little here? Since you cant consult someone until tomorrow...

First, tik tok is a neutral app that can be used for good or for rebellious kids, esp frum ones, really shockingly badly.

It is just a tool.

You give her a smartphone, not kosher one & not even an iphone where you have parental controls & expect her not to use it? You ask too much.

But now, how do you go forward?

Maybe explain to her the reasons why you dont want her to use it in certain ways. Give her choice about a logical solution that would satisfy both you & her. I think this approach is age appropriate.
