I was schmoozing with my MIL (who's extremely sensitive) at a Simcha. A cousin wanted to tell her Mazel Tov and called her name but MIL didn't hear her. I stepped in and (by mistake) said: "Miriam," _____ is calling you... (MILs name).
Wow, she got so offended...

I did a really great course on taharat hamishpacha and started to enthusiastically recommend it to the mother of the local shaliach (the course took place in her midrasha). She smiled at me awkwardly and said "well I would love to have joined but since my husband is dead I don't think I"d have much to gain from it"...... gaaaah!!! Totally forgot!!!!
