How should I wash dresses?
Even in the cold handwash cycle on my machine and lowest spin, the dresses for some reason get smaller.
I started washing them by hand, but it's so much work.
What do I do wrong or what should I do?
(And with 4 girls I can't start giving them to dry cleaning them all the time)

Gentle cycle. Air dry

We don’t dry clean children’s clothes. That’s insane

Are they washable dresses? They shouldn't be shrinking in cold water. Are you hanging them up to dry?

Is this with all dresses? Or with dresses from one specific company?

Are the girls old enough to learn how to hand wash their own dresses?

They are expensive dresses and yes I hang them to dry.
I am talking about teenage and ladies dresses only.
Some close family member sells dresses and we get them from her. She says she always washes all the dresses (also the ones that say dry clean) also her own ones on delicate/cold cycle. And she doesn't have any issues.
And I know she wouldn't lie to me.

Whats the fabric of these dresses? Some are not meant to be washed.

It sounds like you're dealing with one brand. And that the ticket doesn't say washable?

I never machine wash shabbos dresses. Teens dresses shouldn't need to be washed after every wear, spot washing should be ok. If it says on a label dry clean only, I wouldn't take the risk to wash it, even if the sales lady says it's ok.
What you can do is, as soon as you take it out of the wash, stretch out the dress.

If you won't buy any place else, then maybe size up when buying and wash before putting it on the first time.
