Ive been wearing pretieds but I like the look of snoods.

I tried them and even if I loosen the elastic, I hate the feel of elastic pulling over my ears.

Is there a solution?

Why do you wear the snood over your ears? It should go behind your ears.

It’s so typical for a new snood wearer to be bothered. Try it for a week and you won’t feel it anymore. I’m glad I didn’t give up in the beginning when I felt it. After a few days I didn’t anymore.

yes, me too. it hurts the first week but then loosens up. I wear it to sleep for a few days also. find that helps stretch it out as well

Same way for some, they don't wear stockings since that part of their leg showing is not ervah. not everyone holds that.

You can also test out different brands- some are made bigger than others. It’s a balance between being too tight on the ears and too loose and falling off.
Another way to stretch is to leave it on a shaitel head overnight.

Then I guess the company you bought is too tight for you.

nope. they're regular chenilles and I bought them with the adjustable elastic in the back so I can make them tight/loose.

what do women wear in the summer heat? chenilles all year round? they're awfully thick

some companies make lightweight versions. Spend some time in more than 1 store to find the one thats most comfortable for you

Some people prefer the look over the ears. Having your ears stick out is not flattering to all.

I also hate the elastic. I buy chunky knit yarn beret/beanies that are a similar shape to a snood but much more comfortable.

Where do you get them?

Anywhere in Brooklyn? Online?

You need a snood with a soft headband attached, like this one:
