I was listening to a talk that talked about how our bodies all have foods that bless our bodies- when we eat them, our body feels good, energized etc. What are those foods for you? Just curioua because my list feels boring!

Water- makes such a huge difference
Leafy greens

I looove processed carbs so so much buttt if I am honest with myself I feel so sleepy 😴 after eating it.

Other ideas of foods that make ppl feel good?

Foods don't bless the body - Hashem does.

I'm all in favor of healthy eating, but it's a means to something else, not a value in itself.

Eat foods that nourish your body, that you won't regret from a nutritional standpoint, that will enable you to serve Hashem effectively. Daven as you prepare the food that this is your purpose, to serve Hashem optimally.
(And if you do this, you can allow yourself the occasional nibble of chocolate.)

I once read that the healthiest food in the world is mushrooms. There’s a list of superfoods you can look up.

It depends on what a person needs at a given time.

In the middle of a famine, calorie-rich food would give an immediate boost of energy and make a person feel good...

If a person lacks a micronutrient, food that provides this element would make them feel good...

We live in an era of over-abundance, where we need to manage our caloric intake rather than a boost of energy.

So I suppose we are best off with food that gives not too many calories for much mass/volumee and a maximum of micro-nutrients.

The categories of food which provide that are unprocessed vegetables and fruits...

They have 85% water or more, so veggies are between 12-30 cal per 100g, fruits between 30-60...

They contain a lot of different micro-nutrients.
They have diverse tastes and satisfy our tastebuds.

That's why nutritionnist recommend to eat food as untreated as possible, to fill half the plate with veggies, the rest with with protein and/or more intense carbs, and to drink water or tea, no calories...

my personal blessed food is garlick. Some rebbes distributed garlick for a bracha.

And water melon...

Me too.

By the way: a study says that a glass of milk after strenous exercise has a better effect than sports drinks...
