Hi,

I'll be visiting the Catskills (specifically Woodridge) for the first time in years.
If someone can help me with a few questions I'd appreciate it.

What's the kosher food market like? Can I buy ready made dinner/shabbos food?
Alternately, can I buy raw chicken/meat?
Am I better off bringing along my food from the city?
I'm not sure how long we'll be there for, I'd like to know my options.

What should I bring along and what can I get there?

Also, are there family friendly activities such as fruits n veggie picking or kayaking or any other ideas in the area? I would prefer not to have to drive more than a half hour for anything, as I'm going to relax, but good ready made food (maybe outdoor seating?) would definitely help with the relaxation.

Thanks all.

Everything is readily available however prices are more expensive than in the city. If you have the ability to bring up well priced chicken/ meat, you would save considerably.

Thank you both!
Do you know of any kosher take outs/restaurants that would be open?
At least for tomorrow so I don't have to cook when we get there.

Dougies and Panino is open in Woodburne , Booser is a fleishig takeout (also raw meat) in Fallsburg town. I am not sure if buy rite takeout is open yet. Then you have all the pizza stores.....
We go for the whole summer and cant even cover all the restuarants.

Activity wise not sure what is open this year. There is kelders farm in Elenville but its not picking season yet. Lock Sheldrack lake boats looks like they are open. (theres a sushi cafe there).

Thanks so much!
Any steakhouses for when I have an occasion, or not really?
I think I'll try Dougies or Panino, I know Woodburne isn't too far from me.

Center 1 in Woodridge has tons of stores. Not sure what's there this year but there was pizza, a shnitzel place, and I think some kind of other eateries there, in addition to a HUGE grocery that would have anything you might need. Really don't know what's happening up there this year tho.. Confused
