I want to cuddle
Hold her in my arms
Rock her to sleep
Watch her breathe
I want to see her tiny nose flare
Her wisps of red hair
Her pamper become full
I want to be there when she cries
When she smiles
When she starts to be cranky
And everyone runs from a mile
Instead
I stand on the side
Observing the bunch
Huddling over the bundle
Wrapped in pink
I long for the day
When I will be able to say
This bundle of pink or blue
Is mine
I crave for the time
When I will be content and complete
Not with a lump in my throat
And the feeling of needing to cry
And a shoulder to cry on
So then I turn away and wipe a tear
And go take that bundle of joy from my sister
And I cuddle and hold her
As if she were mine
