Heard of him but never used him personally, but have you investigated chronic strep as a cause of stuttering?

I'm an SLP.
Unless he is also one, what are his credentials to be treating such a delicate condition?
There is no cure for stuttering, different techniques can help maintain fluency, breathing, posture... so if anyone claims to have a cure... they are very misinformed.

His credentials are that he used to stutter himself

Do you know what age patients he sees?
Can poster please elaborate on chronic strep as cause of stuttering? Have you seen this to be the case with someone you know? How do you go about treating this....or riding this out? Thanks very much

I think he sees different ages, my husband did his program as an adult
About the strep, I wasn’t the poster who mentioned it, but did the stutter start suddenly? Usually if the kid starts stuttering from the time they start talking, its genetic.
If there is sudden onset as an older child, definitely worth looking into different causes like strep (pandas etc)

What kind of treatment ? Antibiotics? Do you get tested for this with a regular throat strep test? At pediatrician?
Thanks for all your help.my son stutters since he started talking and would love to get him help.

He says it works but most SLPs don’t believe it.
Does it hurt to try if he doesn’t have credentials?

you can try testing but he might not be positive, it’s more of a post infectious inflammatory response. You can test strep titers, tho they won’t rule the diagnosis in or out. Antibiotics is a good place to start, you might need a longer course being that this has been going on for so long. You can also look into holistic treatments for brain inflammation

I have done research and have spoken to Doctors and SLPs whom have sent to Kaufman. It seems like anyone who knows what he does highly recommends it. So far we are seeing progress.

Does anyone have or know of anyone that had personal experience with him? He charges an arm & a leg. He claims you only need to come to him once. Any info would be greatly appricated.

Yes, I know people that went to Yanky Kaufman and were cured, and that was after years of trying everything else under the sun. He's really a gift for those suffering. People even fly him overseas to help them! Hatzlacha
