Usps returns

I have a return that I mailed back to the store over 3 weeks ago. I have a tracking # and it just has been saying 'in transit' since the beginning of June.

I called the store and they will not issue a refund until the item is actually in their store. Tried calling USPS and they said its just 'in transit' and nothing further they can do. It was an expensive item and I would really love to get the money back already!

Any ideas?

There is a USPS 800 number for customer service. Usps can open an investigation for the package and they will get back to you with the results.

Did you ship it with standard mail or priority mail?

Same here. I also used the store return label and mailed it out June 15 and when I went to track it today it is still saying “in transit”.
It is really frustrating.
I am going to go to the post office and try to talk to a live person.
I had this situation at work and it took over a month but eventually it was delivered. Sometimes it is put on the side and forgotten until someone actually sees it.

If you used the store return label, then it's likely standard mail. That could take up to 10 business days till delivered.

I'd call the central USPS 800 customer service number and ask to open an investigation. There might be a problem though because you didn't create the shipping label yourself and they usually ask for confirmation of the to and from addresses. But it's still worth a try.

They are losing packages and delays are crazy.

Choose "where is my package"
They will investigate the tracking number and I'm telling you they'll all of a sudden "find" it. I've had this happen multiple times successfully with USPS

It could very likely be a mail return service. I remember once I had such a package. You’ll have to double check exactly how it works but as far as I remember it gets dropped off to a general place and the company you returned it to picks it up from there. I’d call the company and ask them rather than USPS.
