The powerhouse women who are learning gemara and becoming yoatzot and other such positions are not learning to be like men.
For all of you who are "so nervous" about this step, what is there to be nervous about?
These women want to be allowed to learn like men learn, only because they love learning.

As I mentioned earlier, a generation ago women were not even allowed to learn torah at all. And then sarah shneirer came along. We can only keep moving forward. If one stays the same, thats also not good.

LOL! Oh the fights you have had defending your position that you have zero room to grow in your yiddishkeit, your learning Halacha and mussar.
Too bad Shalhevet is no longer around to enjoy the moment.

I knew someone would bring that up Wink
I am not talking about personal growth. I still believe that people can stay in one place in their yiddishkeit etc.
I am talking about frum society moving forward. Not the same thing at all.

Shira is a great lady.
This winter she taught the women's gemara class that I attend.
Her main job is teaching at an Ulpan Giyur and I see that the article says that she is the first woman to sit for the exam on the laws of conversion. Wow.
