A woman I know needs clothes for her 19 year old daughter who wears a size 10. She cannot really afford to buy . She quietly asked me today whether I know someone who might have good, up to date secondhand clothing to give away, and I said I would try. The woman lives in Crown Heights. She would pick it up. I know her personally and she is a wonderful, hardworking person. It must be really hard for a 19 year old girl to have to rely on hand me downs. But I guess if the clothing is pretty and in good condition she will be happy with it.
If anyone here could donate a gift card that, of course, would be amazing.
If you would like to help with this mitzvah, please PM me for details.
Tizku lemitzvos!

If she can , it would really be worthwhile for her to go to Lakewood for a day and visit Serendipity or DeJavue.

It would be very worth her while to make a trip to serendipity in Lakewood! I buy almost all mine and my kids clothing from them. I've seen some of the wealthiest and most fashionable ladies in Lakewood shopping there. The clothing is up to date and beautiful. Each used item is between 2-3 dollars, new clothing between 5-20 dollars. If this is too costly for your friend, have her call in advance. I know people in truly desperate situations who shop there for free.

I’ve purchased here and had some great finds. They have measurements of each item listed. I buy brands and sizes I know for me for a better experience.

Aren't they the same thing?

I just want to mention, though for someone really hard-up it's not very helpful, that my 19 year old got a beautiful Shabbos dress on Shein for under $20. You never know what you find there.....

Yes, exactly what I wanted to comment. There are places where you can buy clothing for really inexpensive prices. Of course if there is truly no money for clothes, this isn’t helpful, but I find that some people who aren’t very savvy shoppers, don’t realize what great finds are out there.

A girl that age would want to do shopping in a frum venue. She wouldn't be impressed with the Elieen Fisher skirt I got at a resale store. (I do thrift shopping too but this was for profit, in an area with more cachet.)

Thank you. I contacted her with the info about Serendipity and the outdoor sale in Far Rockaway which someone PM'd to me. She was so pleased. If anyone posts or pms further with clothes to donate or the gift card that one poster generously wrote she was willing to arrange , tizki lemitzvos and thanks in advance!
This is a wonderful group and we are a wonderful nation.
