I suspect Shifra felt bad about Chava's miscarriage (and also didn't want her back in her apt...) so she gave the money to Sholom, but made him promise not to say it was from her.

Maybe, but I don't know how he would work that out while being under house-arrest...

Its the first story I turn to as soon as I rip off the plastic cover
But I do wish more would happen every week...
But sholom so could do things whilst under house arrest... bank transfers, getting ppl to drop off money...

I do find this story to be quite true to life. Complicated and messy!
Yes there are plenty of such unassertive confused 19 yr old newly married women And men Out there that their moms are still helping them with Mikva planning and ob gyn appointments. This is especially true in communities where couples get married young! (However the control portrayed in this story isn’t necessarily this common bh)
Knowing the writers style from previous ami articles Chava will get divorced and shalom will come out innocent everyone will believe they were right and we will be left clutching our chest from how painful life could be.

Chava decides to put her foot down and fly to ey to spk to shalom and he says not necessary and tell her he thinks divorce is the best option. Against her parents wishes she flies to ey and shows up to stinky sis in laws apt only to find out that shalom doesn’t live there anymore
