I’ve been working my entire married life. Never thought I could handle not working. But with carona, I was forced to stop since my kids were out of school. Now that all childcare opened here, I started work recently and I’m having such a hard time!!! I miss not worrying about when my kids were dressed and ready in the morning. My number one stress is scheduling and being on time for things - so not caring about any of that has been so calming for me! Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been kvetching about some hard days we’ve had, but all in all things have been SO nice - feeding my baby whenever she wanted...hanging out with my toddler in the mornings....just shmoozing with my kids... I’m feeling so trapped .

I miss not chasing my own tail.
Covid has inspired me to rearrange my priorities and schedule, just a bit.

I still had to work throughout covid, but I was glad to be able to work from home. I got to make sure they were eating/in class and help them etc....instead of relying on another person doing that.
I'm so happy I got to be a mom (even though I had to be up at night finishing work).
I'm not looking forward going back to work.
So, I can totally relate.

I'm hearing this more and more from working moms. Corona was just a tease!

It's not the real stay at home life btw. No carpooling, Dr. Appt, shopping, errands. Less pressure all around during Corona

I hear you ladies!
I definitely enjoyed my quiet few months, but now that my daughter started camp and I have to have her up and ready by 8, I am looking forward to getting back into the grind myself.

Working moms have to do all that and work.

I’m with you!
We aren’t supposed to he working while raising kids. They need us and we need them to help us grow. The current system is just so so not productive to society.
Hopefully I don’t get bashed by “feminists” for saying this.
But we need the job for the money so we can pay our crazy tuitions...so the school can raise out children for us...

But they are not with the kids 24/7... Which is a different kind of work.......

I think her point was more that SAHMs were also less busy than usual during this time, it wasn’t really a taste of typical SAHM life.

Yes and no - even when not working - it’s not typical to be home with ALL your kids. so yes, there was no carpool or school lunches to prepare - but having the kids home 24/7 definitely made life super busy in its own way. But I still prefer it!!

Really? Sahm moms have all their kids home 24:7 while shopping and doc appts? They homeschool year round?
Now that is impressive.
Working mothers still make lunches and suppers. And do all doc appts. And shop for food and clothing. They just do it in the evening, Sunday’s or online.
Who else would do it?

I agree. I'll probably have to stop being a SAHM after this kid, but it's great to be able to build your day around your kids. I feel really blessed that I could do it until now.
