I'm sending a gift for a child to Israel that is only sold in the US. I can see that Amazon delivers it there.

Question: is it generally cheaper to buy the gift and then ship myself to Israel (through what carrier?) or does it come out even to order from amazon and deliver straight there?

Does either method take significantly longer?

Shipping it yourself is very expensive.
What is Amazon charging you for the shipping?

The recipient will also have to pay taxes if the gift is more than $75.

Bumping this for myself. I want to buy a baby gift for my brother and sister-in-law. What is the best way to go about that?

Order from an israeli site.
If you read hebrew and have an idea of what you want I can give you website suggestions.
