I once got a meal from someone before Yom Tov. She didn't know but no one else sent anything. She was very generous and we ate her food for two days. I've never forgotten her kindness, and learned my lesson- when I send food I'm always generous. Like someone else said, if they're getting meals they might really need them.

That sounds terribly unhealthy. I said for one meal--as in no leftovers, just an appropriate amount. If you want to send with built-in leftovers, send over twice as much.
I have never seen beef at $5/lb ever. Pretty sure $8-$9/lb |
Well I wouldn’t advise eating half a pound of meat nightly. But either way, I was really advising it with the understanding that there will be extra. Better to have leftovers than not enough. Plus, my husband would easily eat half a pound or more. Not that he would be hungry with less, but why not send a lot?
