Its going to be thunderstorms all next week Upstate, where else is there to go, max 2 hour driving where I can buy kosher food, cooler than NYC?

Never believe the forecast. They are inaccurate most of the time. Thunderstorms can be 15 minute passing thing or during the night. I’ve learnt not to trust forecasts when planning getaways. They’re always wrong.

I’m enjoying my comfortable air conditioned house.
Couldn’t get more cooler than that.

After the rains, it's gorgeous. And it's so hilly that you really can't tell where the storm is going to land.
If you had a very outdoorsy itinerary with long hikes and river boating, you might want to hope for better timing. But if you just want a pretty place to hang out, the weather shouldn't be that bad.
