We live in NY. Eventually we'd like to make aliya. We'd like to invest in real estate in Israel. We have no idea where to start or who to contact. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

Depends what you are looking for.
Do you want to invest in a home you could possibly live in?
Do you care which city it's in?
Who is going to take care of the home while you are abroad? Are you planning on leaving it empty, or using a property management company to rent it out?
Are you looking for prime real estate, or to take a risk and to buy somewhere where prices could rise eventually?
What's your budget?
You also need to talk to someone about taxes etc. I know for Israelis there is מס רכישה for a second home, which is usually around 6%. It's a tax meant to discourage people from buying tons of investment apartments. I don't know how much the tax is if you are not Israeli citizens or what other taxes there may be.

Contact Yitz Kowalsky. I really recommend him. He is experienced in this area and honest and easy to work with. You can email him at Yitzchak@yykrealestate.com. You can also look him up on Facebook
