I am looking for ideas of fun 1-2 hour things to go out and do with kids ages 9-14 in Monsey. Something that is a treat, I.e. not just a hike in the park, and not too hot. It could come with a price tag, but not prohibitive.

I thought of Turtle Boo but don't know if the 14 yo will be into it. Anyone been? Would that age enjoy?
I know the Palisades mall just reopened, anyone know what's open there? Is it appropriate for yeshivish teen girls to have fun there with their mother?
Any craft studios open?
Going out to eat is nice but a bit boring, and I don't know which places have dining in.
We're fine with outdoorsy and animal stuff, but most are not open after 6 when we could go. Also it would need to be very local.

Really, hit me with any ideas you have.

Turtleboo just said they are open. I just saw that somewhere. I think it's good up to like 10-11. 14 year old probably will find it boring.

I think they're only open on weekends for private events. Maybe call them.
It's a bit boring though for a 14 year old. They don't have that many arcades.

Thanks for the suggestions. Hobby House sounds interesting. Can you tell me more about it? Or if anyone has similar suggestions. Someplace a yeshivish mother and teens can go in the evening and do a fun activity.

Chuck E. Cheese in Nanuet looks like it closes at 7, Paramus closes at 9.

Hobby house has ceramic painting and different crafts for all ages. I don't know till what time they're open though. They're located on Main Street above shoe barn.

Could it work for this age?

I'm thinking about different places that might offer activities. I wonder if Gympros has anything fun for a one-time thing. Or any other place that offers activities; most that I see advertised are courses, not fun night out type of things.

There is really not much open now as far as I know. Your best bet is outdoors. Bike riding, hiking, bbqing, make bonfires, walk the new tappan zee bridge, etc

The tappen zee walk is an amazing experience. But not for those that are afraid of heights.

I went there. I happened to have not liked it but many ppl I know did. I found it just super noisy.

Maybe buy canvases and do a YouTube paint night or maybe Jill ceramics is open. You can go to the ice cream store or pizza stores ...

You need to wait for August 6 for the occupancy restrictions to change. Plus indoor malls need to update HVAC systems.

It may be in phase 4 but most places are not open to the public yet. Some places are open for camps or private events.
