if the therapist was 50+ and was specifically recommended for the issue at hand.
and assuming it was in an office with no yichud issue

As someone in therapy- no: unless this therapist was a specialist in that field and there was no male equivalent to take him to, then I would reconsider. Some pretty big feelings can come up in therapy and they are so hard to deal with...
