TV legend Regis Philbin coldly turned his back on his kids, Danny and Amy, from his first marriage — because his second wife wanted nothing to do with them, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

That’s the shameful charge from Danny’s ex-wife, Judy Philbin, who blasts Regis, 86, and his current wife, Joy, as “despicable” for the way they shunned his children from his marriage to Catherine Faylen.

“They’re evil,” she tells Radar in a world exclusive. “What Joy and him did to those two kids because they were not her children was despicable!

“They didn’t want to have the responsibility of caring for a disabled child — so they put Danny in a home for mentally challenged kids!”

After twelve years of marriage, Regis divorced Catherine in 1969 and wed Joy a year later. She had his daughters Joanna, 45, and Jennifer, 43, who Judy claims were raised like royalty.

But Judy charges Regis’ neglect drove crippled Danny, who was born with a spinal condition that led to amputation of his legs, into a deep depression.

She insists Regis also catapulted Amy into a long battle with drug addiction.

Finally in 2006, Amy, 59, was near death when the talk show star finally came to her rescue, moving her from a crime-riddled area in L.A. to a two-story home in a decent neighborhood, says Judy.

“He purchased that home for her and that was it,” she says. “It was in ruins when I went there. It was unlivable.”

Meanwhile, by 2009, Danny and Judy were in such a terrible fix they had to borrow money just to eat, she says.

Once word broke, Regis, worth an estimated $150 million, reached out to reconcile with his struggling son.

But Judy, who divorced 49-year-old Danny four years before his 2014 death, charges the reunion was just a public relations stunt to make Regis look like a caring dad.

“They never bonded,” she says. “He never came to visit us.”
