I find myself constantly dropping things, spilling things, and breaking things. It's extremely frustrating because I am adding jobs to my own workload. I have to stop what I'm doing to clean/ wipe/ fix the mess.
I have always been this way. I'm starting to feel badly about it because I look (& feel) incompetent & it's embarrassing. I feel like this happens to me a lot more than to other people.
Any advice on how to improve this?

Get an Occupational therapy evaluation. It probably could be helped. Also get your eyes checked- you never know.

I'm curious, how would occupational therapy help?
Asking sincerely because I have similar issues.

They strengthen hand-eye coordination as well as muscles used in daily functioning.

Hand eye coordination is how your hands and eyes work together. I have these kinds of issues and practicing yoga and pilates have helped my coordination as well. An occupational therapist can really help.

Why is this under etiquette? Dropping things is not unmannerly unless you do it deliberately. I second the idea of getting a medical evaluation to determine the cause--you may have poor eye-hand coordination or poor grip strength.

Dd has this. She had some joint pain, and found out she has a mild form of arthritis.

I would bring this up with your doc. An OT eval also makes sense
