We are 😊...
I’m assuming this year there will be more people home than other years.
My DH mentioned that he already saw people packing their cars right after maariv last night to leave to the mountains .
Happens to be, we live in a nice big house with a nice porch and backyard but for some reason we always feel like we are the only ones home on shabbos nachamu. I’m totally fine with it but DH usually feels bad for himself when he comes home from a mostly empty shul.
So, who else will be staying home too?

We are also. If I am going away I would rather go at a time when it is quiet and you don’t meet your whole neighborhood on your vacation.

Me too!
We were supposed to go away but last minute happenings happened and we're staying home! Personally I don't enjoy the packing and traveling and keeping kids busy and then packing again and unpacking. I would much rather stay home. But some well meaning people don't understand how much I don't enjoy the going away so for their sake I grit my teeth and count the hours till I can go home.

I’ve been away almost every shabbos for the last month. I miss being quarantined at home. I’ll definitely be staying home this week and very much looking forward!

I am
My dad went upstate with the family. Our family is on the smaller end, just me and one sister married, I have one child, and 4 siblings at home. We usually all go together and he's disappointed that we didn't join by choice. (He'd understand if it was because of work or whatever but he has very limited days he can work out to get away for various reasons and he knows we're usually flexible.)
I just wasn't in the mood of traveling back and forth the day after a fast, and really wanted to just focus on laundry today and then have good homeade food on Shabbos.
We also already went upstate with them in June for a few days and figured then that it's our time for this summer.
Maybe next year.

We are staying home. I bought some special Shabbos treats in honor of this special Shabbos. We never made it a “thing” to go away for Shabbos Nachamu. We go away when it works out for us. Otherwise , we are happy to be home.

I am. Shabbos nachamu vacations are not a thing in my community. BH. This pressure is so silly.

I live in Long Island. I am home like usual shabbos nachamu. I am home every shabbos because I have nowhere to go! I am having my brother for shabbos though.

We’re home every week! My kids would love to go away but I really dislike it so it’s their tough luck. Something always goes wrong when we go away!

Same. Never heard of this before imamother. Not going anywhere with a newborn, anyway especially during covid. Is everyone renting houses? I don't think I would trust a hotel's cleanliness now.

Me. Same as every year. I enjoy the quiet empty streets. If I could, I’d go away the week that everyone comes home from the country.

I don’t even think my kids know that Shabbos Nachamu is a thing. We were actually invited out and they wanted to stay home. Works for me I love being home.

me. We usually time our summer vacation for after tisha B'av but we have to stick around for another week for work reasons. I would never be ready to go away the day after tisha ba'v anyway, normally we would head off on sunday.
Anyway one of my sons is still in Yeshiva. Not sure if they normally go so long or they are making up lost covid time. .

I'm in Monsey. Not only don't I go away but people in the city expect me to host them.
So that's what I'm doing. Trying not to be resentful.
I don't get this going away when everyone else does. It almost seems like going to the amusement park Chol Hamoed (worst time to go). I'd rather go away when it works for me and certainly not when everyone else is.
