Can someone please help me out here?
Please tell me which backpacks are in for girls going to a Bais Yaakov type high schools in Flatbush this year? If possible links would be appreciated.
(Please don't tell me that it's not important to fit in and I'm not teaching DD about what's important in life. This kid needs to have the right things to fit in right now, so please avoid the lectures!) Ty

I'm going to send dd without the first day so she can look around and see what she likes and wants.

She would want to see what her friends bring and fit in.
Not what the ladies at IMA site suggest.

No, not really
On the first day of school, girls have their back packs already.
And the ladies on IMA are quite helpful and saavy, and know what's in.
If you have nothing helpful to add, please don't post here.

So, we are still looking! These Herschel ones are so not practical. No water bottle pockets, barely any compartments. Anything "in" that might fit the bill?

My daughter is going into 12th grade in Bais Yaakov.
She is part of the middle in crowd and she told me she wants a Puma backpack from Target.
She didn’t pick out a color yet.

Definitely the Fjallraven, and I love the Hunter one too. Both great Brooklyn HS options.
The Fjallraven side pockets do not fit water bottles, they're meant for phones or the like.
Herschel is a classic for all ages.
I don't see the Kiplings as much these days.
Some more brands, not the most popular but would fit in right:

You can try looking at the Lululemon ones. They're a little pricey and don't have the water bottle pocket, but tbh I didn't think about the necessity of that pocket until someone here mentioned it.
Someone got my sister a Tumi backpack as a gift, but I'm not linking it because I just looked for it online and it's $325 which I think is just too much. Adidas has some cute reasonable options, but it's not necessarily what the girls here would wear.

Someone mentioned to me that the girls are wearing Marc Jacobs briefcases.
