If you are looking for serious settled families, you are best off in Lakewood itself and not Toms River. Sorry, but it's the truth.

What in the world? There are amazing families who are settled and serious in toms river. Have you ever stepped foot out of your bubble in lakewood?

I have friends there. Nice group of typical JPF families from Brooklyn. There’s a range of ages.

Of course there are!! However, as a whole group Toms River is not what you call a "serious" neighborhood.
In general the atmosphere is more "out there" than in Lakewood.
The women are dressed trendier, there are less men learning full time.
Argue all you want and then take a walk thru neighborhoods in both communities.

Lady don’t make up your own code name for Lakewood. Say it’s not Lakewood type or not learning families. Cuz no one know what you mean when you say not serious or not established.

There are established people families who have built seriously beautiful neighborhoods out there. But it’s not Lakewood, and that why they live where they live and not somewhere else.

Having lived in both that's just nonsense. There are trendy and simple people in both, and there are learners in both. It's really not ok to put down a community you know nothing about like this. And there are plenty of negatives that only lakewood has that we can start listing.

Oh and I left lakewood because there were negatives that I didn't want to expose my kids to. Just saying.

LOL.. For real? You must live in Lakewood. Guys life outside Lakewood exists.. And there are some wonderful families all over Tom's river.

Seriously? Can’t believe you’re maligning an entire group of people. Just because some people want space and don’t want to live in a ghetto, doesn’t mean we’re not settled.

You mean to say there are more chassidim in Toms River, and they don’t tend to learn full time forever. Fixed it for you. Your anti-chasidish bigotry is showing.

Nope. Not true. Toms river is huge and has different areas and different crowds
Charelton circle is across from the landings
There are two shuls, one heimish one litvish. The age groups vary from late twenties to early fifties. Very nice families. Some shtreimelech, some clean shaven, some uphats, bais yaakov.
Kids go to different schools.
Charleton houses are larger, newer and more expensive than the landings. Landings and charleton families interact and daven together
My dil had a baby, and ds works full time and the community really helped with meals and rides.
They made an upsherin and everyone came. They help and support each other.

I live in Toms River and were serious and settled (whatever that means) thank you very much.

Are there individuals 'vus halten bam gurnisht' as the phrase goes? Sure. But you got plenty of those in Lakewood too or maybe more since Lakewood has more people.
