I'm trying to avoid having to rent a tent and cater in my backyard, too much work after be"h making a wedding! is there a place preferably in Brooklyn, but even in Long Island with covered outdoor dining? I would really appreciate any suggestions!! Also, a place to rent tent from as a backup! Thanks!!

What’s your budget?
I know an event planner who arranges events on a boat.

wow! so cool! do you know if it can be outside on the boat with a cover in case of rain? I'm trying to keep it under 1500, about 30 adults and about children, with room for social distancing, does that sound possible?

Mazel tov! You can cut some letters from your thread title, maybe ISO outdoor place sheva brachos, and then add Bklyn, Q, LI. Hatzlacha!

Honestly, there is no corona anymore in certain neighborhoods now.
Just find a nice place and let them take care of it for you.
Obviously this wasn’t the case a few months ago, but so much has changed since then.

thanks

OP, mazel tov! I don’t have a good answer for you, I’m sorry, but I have a newly engaged couple trying to plan a simcha now while still upholding corona precautions. I’m so curious what you did and where and how etc for the wedding. It would be so helpful if you could share any tips or experiences both good and bad or any helpful resources. I don’t mean to hijack your thread though 🙈.

The couple is from Brooklyn. They were initially thinking November but aren’t sure what to do currently. Guidelines could change between now and then but if not, it may be too chilly for outdoors. It’s quite a challenge with planning. They are trying to uphold all of the precautions. Mazel tov to you! When and where is your wedding? Are you having sheva brachos as well?

I wouldn’t give a deposit.
If you have a hall you would be interested in booking, ask them to place a hold on the desired date.

Problem with the boat if it actually goes around is that ppl are stuck in the boat until it docks again.
If you have an emergency or babysitter that needs you home it’s a problem
