I am looking for a house that is very child friendly (I have several kids all under 6). Prefer park nearby or playset in yard for the kids. No pool please. Doesn't need to be very large. PM please. Flexible dates. 3-7 days in last 2 weeks of August.

Wonder why people pay so much. You can do an airbnb for cheaper.
I’m in the city because I can’t afford a vacation. If I had to go, I wouldn’t pay more than $99 hotel room prices.
What are people thinking?
Do they all pay full tuition? Who can afford this?

Hotels don’t have private pools that’s what people who won’t go mixed swimming are paying a premium for.
Airbnb with a pool is not much cheaper if you can even find one and you certainly won’t find one walking distance to a minyan.

Exactly!
I don't remember if I said this on this thread or a similar one.
But we used to go away a lot. So I was very familiar with rental rates from websites like airbnb. We used to wistfully look at rentals with private pools. Those were at least $800 a night and usually much more. None of them remotely near a shul or kosher food.
So we never ended up renting one with a pool.
Therefore if you think about it, a yiddish house with kosher kitchen, near shul and kosher food PLUS a private pool? For sure worth more than an airbnb.
(Do the math, 3 nights for 2700 is $900 a night.)

Why so judgy?

Yes we can afford it bh.
Yes we pay full tuition and give lots of Tzedakah.
Yes we pay our taxes.
No, we don’t do this on a regular basis. But we do this once a year or so when this is the type of vacation we want.
(Surprise! We’re even Chassidish!)

P.s. no that doesn’t mean life is perfect...
