I think it would depend on what else the kid has going on

teachers say he is great. he is the oldest, so it makes sense in a way. he is partially bored, and partially wants everything to be perfect and this enables everything to go his way and he can be in charge of them without them talking back. just wondering at what point they stop on their own. he will tell me all these stories and set up birthday parties for these helpers. its really amusing. 6 yrs old.

Oh I still have imaginary friends and see nothing wrong with it. They’re always so sweet and say I look like I lost weight. Plus they offer me ice cream as a reward. What’s the issue?

LOL. but you dont tell your younger sibling not to sit in a certain seat at the table because the helper is already there.... like is he for real? I think he knows its all fun and games, but he takes it too seriously and they are too involved in his life

Following. My 3 year old has lots of imaginary friends, too, and I'm not sure what to make of them.

I know a little boy who had imaginary friends Pickle and Shmickle.
He was probably 4,5,6...
His family thought it was cute.

He is now 21 and totally normal bochur. Smile

I wouldn't worry!

I don't remember. I don't think much longer. Definitely not past 8. Probably not last 7.

My son had imaginary friends till about six. I was a little worried my pediatrician told me not to be concerned till age 6 or maybe 7 and then he stopped. He’s now 13 and sometimes he jokes about it.

Role playing is part of healthy growing up from age 3 till about age 7.

I have to kiss my 4 yr old's dolls' boo-boos & have to feed them candy (so she can have double) otherwise they will cry.

My sis used to set up a classroom with dolls & she was the teacher, when she was in first grade. She's a mature, non-sense, goal oriented, on the ball woman today, not a dreamy, spacy type

I guess what gets me is that there are no dolls. it looks like he is talking to the wall/himself. its totally out of thin air. he tells me that they are invisible. Can't Believe It
