I’m thinking to take a flight with my teenagers.
Are any restaurants open for eat in?
Are Shuls already accepting strangers ?
Are they all open?
Is there anything interesting for for us to do in the neighborhood?
Thank you!

Miami Dade and Broward are crawling with Covid...even as far up as Palm Beach County. It will only get worse with Labor Day weekend coming up. I would tell you to avoid this area.

Some restaurants are open with strict seating procedures and rules. Others are open for take out as well.

Shuls areopen but there is very minimal social distancing in many of them, that is according to my husband and my neighbors husband as well. There is very little for teens to do....anything that is active is closely watched and outsiders not admitted. Any other activities means interaction with teens who may or may not carry the virus.

My neighbor was there ten days ago for a mini honeymoon. Definitely wasn't the vacation she pictured. If you PM me with questions, I can ask her directly.

Are there that many new hospitalizations or just more recorded virus?

The hospitalizations have leveled off, but the cases being treated outside of the hospital are rising. People in our communities are failing to social distance, are out shopping and gathering and the walk in clinics are seeing a great deal of activity.

Why would you want to come here? It's a billion degrees and humid outside. It rains every day. Covid numbers are still very high. Attractions and restaurants are either closed or limited. What's the draw?

A. Because it’s beautiful. Same temperature as NYC but so much prettier.
B. I can get a free villa for the week with our own private pool.
C. change of scenery, but close enough not to be a huge hassle.

1. Traveling and mingling with other locales has turned up new cases.
2. Schools are requiring 14 day quarantine after visiting, before letting your kids into school.

Very hot here right now. My shul in Boca is not allowing out of Towners. Restaurants in this area only open for takeout or outside sitting. Way too hot for that Broward and Dade even stricter rules. Mikvah definitely not allowing people from out of town. Kosher stores I don’t think “discriminate.” If you are fine swimming, hanging out at home and eating takeout I say come!

You think I’ve known this before asking...
Please open your own threads if you’d like to defer the discussion.

I believe restaurants will be starting indoor seating at 50% capacity starting August 31. Minyanim in Miami are open to visitors. Just call ahead to see which ones.
Yes, it is miserably hot, but change of scenery is important! Hatzlacha!
