Do you think it would be a good idea to add a new siman to express our wish to stay healthy and safe from Covid-19?

Too bad, because the simanim are all wordplays and puns.

We do extra simanim
Banana- Bana- na please rebuild the bet ha mik dash

Really we eat he banana in order to say Ha-adama since there is a machliket whether the simanim are part of the meal or not

We eat mandarines - Manda harina - in Spanish which means send the flour - in English you would say send the “dough”

round challos are supposed to resemble a “crown (corona)”. So we can have it in mind. Dip into honey as a sign to go from a year of coronavirus to a sweet new year.

We do a lot of them.
Candy Lego for Yibaneh Bet Hamikdash.
Chocolate gelt for Parnass.
Life cereal to be written in Sefer Hachayim.
Working on a Corona one. I don't want to use beer for numerous reasons.
Following. If I come up with anything, I'll let you know.

I think “carona light” beer could do the job. Hashem should make the virus mutate into the most mundane silly cold that all of us could handle. Young, old, strong and weak.

I've always heard that you absolutely can make up your own simanim. It's not a problem at all.

I've heard of eating Life cereal for life and eating a celery with raisin in it to have a "raise in salary".

When my DH was single, he ate at his Rosh Yeshiva's house one R"H. The RY cut a pear in half and gave one to DH, telling him to find "the other half of his pair" (I.e. spouse).

However,
I think drinking Corona would be for someone who wants it Ch"v so best to drink any beer but Corona and say, "L'chaim v'lo corona" or something like that.

I like that one. Liver itself is wonderfully healthy, and had been used raw medicinally as a strengthener for eons. We obviously can't do that for a meal, but having it in mind seems appropriate.

Some people serve liver because "liberlach" sounds like "lib ehrlich"- live properly.

Traditions are more valuable than your desire to be up to date

We already do liver. In yiddish "Leibelach" for "leib ehrlich".
