Thanks for posting!

Whoa, seriously? I always thought the writers identified by a first initial was code for woman writer.

(I had a friend a lifetime ago who told me that was standard for articles she had published in a Jewish publication)

Could be because it's in the women's section...
(He also participated in the Corona song contest.)

But it's all good. I thought for sure M.C. Millman was a man because the first book I read of hers was Juggling Act.

Loved it!!!
It was great the way everything was woven together, down to the used car dealership in Sheepshead bay. I hope Abie Rottenberg read it and enjoyed as much as all the rest of us. Those were great songs!

Is the reference to Kiruv guru a hint to the Journey song? Or is that a stretch?

The only part that seemed really really contrived (as opposed to just merely contrived) is that a kid who lived for winning the game would be so sad that the Rebbe stayed behind and helped them win. To borrow from another thread, I don't think they were so self aware in '65. What's moral support when there's so much more at stake?

Additionally, the ambulance would have taken ages to get there (AFAIK there was no Hatzalah then!) - the game could have been long over by that time...
Very Happy
I still enjoyed every minute of the read...

Oh, funny, I realized it was a reference but couldn't place it.

This author really knows his Abie Rottenberg stuff...
