We are considering relocating there.
We are 2 OOT people who found ourselves in town and we can’t afford it anymore with a growing young family. So we know what it’s like living OOT but don’t know much about Philly.
What’s NE Philly community like?
Are all social functions on hold due to covid or is there a variety of what people do and how they hold? (No judgement here just collecting info)
What is the cost of housing? Rental? Home ownership?
What are income and property taxes like?
What are boys schools like?
What are girls schools like?
Does a family need 2 cars if one adult takes a car out for work every day?
What is parking like?
How many kosher restaurants?
What is the ladies’ mikveh like?
What is the commute like from Philly to Manhattan via train for someone who commutes for work (after corona iyh)
Anything else helpful to know?

What are girls schools like? politz is separated, KTA high school is for girls.
Does a family need 2 cars if one adult takes a car out for work every day? There are busses.
What is parking like? Driveways for houses, street parking and some back lot parking for apartments.
How many kosher restaurants? Palace Royal (f), Espresso Cafe(m), Judah's Grill (f), Pizza at house of kosher (m), there are other things further away.
What is the ladies’ mikveh like? small, clean, nothing special
What is the commute like from Philly to Manhattan via train for someone who commutes for work (after corona iyh) not sure about this
