Some never made (always did hotel) and some still make at 90.
Are you looking fwd to retire from this job? Start by making real downgraded and simple.

There is no special age. Each family has different dynamics. I made YT from the moment I got married, early 20's, hosting my parents, siblings, ILs and more. That's what made sense for us. On the other hand I have friends with married kids already who still go to their parents for YT quite a bit.

Probably has less to do with age, and more to do with who has the most room in their house/at their table, and who has the easiest time traveling/going.

Young people go to hotels too...

So it's not a question of age, it's a question of who?
Who does not make yom tov any more?
It's a personal choice at every instance...

I knew women who went on inviting their grandchildren and great-grandchildren at age 90+

NB: Now would be a good moment to downgrade for those who want... excuse ready available...
...also a good moment to buy smaller pots...

Nobody can give you numbers because there is no such age. Everyone does what works for them.

How old are you? You seem desperate to count down. There’s seriously no right answer. You can totally quit it right now. Or even take a break this year if you feel overwhelmed, and get everything at the local takeout.
I hope to be able to continue till 120, but what do we know?

I think it is life circumstances more than age.

Someone finally gets their dream house and invites everyone to them after years of being out.

Another one loses a spouse and can't bare the empty seat at their table.

Another moves and has no family who can come

Its just life. Some people seem to want to live their lives on a schedule. But there is no schedule to live by. We all just live along with the circumstances we find ourselves in.

My in laws are in their 70s and are still making all the chagim at home, and hosting various kids. My parents are in their 60s and for the past many years they have been taking turns going to me and my siblings. Now, unfortunately, my father is on chemo, so no more of that. Also....corona....

My parents and in-laws are 70, 72, 68,69( you asked) They still invite all the kids. Some for meals some move in.
Once in a while they eat out, but hardly.

My in-laws in their low 70s k"ah are still hosting every meal. My mom same age k"ah hosts randomly for supper but needs more company for YT so we are privileged that she makes the rounds at our homes.

My father stopped making Yom Tov after my mother was niftar, and he comes to us. He was in his late sixties at the time, but I don't think age was the main factor involved.

Are you getting older and tired of making yontov? I hope I can make it until 120 and host my kids. It will be sad when I'm not up to doing that anymore.

My parents in-laws are 83,73,74,74 - they all still make yom tov' b"h.
Sometimes they have guests (not now, don't worry, coronavirus etc), sometimes they go out, sometimes they're at family, but they do 'make' yomtov.

My great aunt is in her 90's and lives in an old-age home - she doesn't make yom tov, she gets meals fed to her.
