Dh is going ahead and started the process to buy a house ( his dream) but he's freaking out how he's gonna up with all the money ( we have a little for down payment ) he didn't realize that you need much more for all the other costs . Oh well will let him figure it out

There are definitely houses available in oak and vine. They are being sold by private sellers, not through the original investors. (Meaning people who bought them originally as investments are selling them now.)

in what price range and how would I get in touch with private sellers?

I don't know the details, but I've heard from people looking for houses now. I'm sure the typical real estate agents know these things.

Keep in mind the other expenses such as monthly mortgage, upgrades etc. It's a pretty expensive choice and while very tempting, we didn't purchase there.
