Thanks

Onion powder, parsley flakes, oregano, salt, pepper, bread crumbs. Then I bake them in marinara sauce.

Add a can of jellied cranberry sauce to your jar of marinara. Delish.

Do you have the purple Spice and Spirit cookbook? I usually make the Italian meatballs.
Actually, lately I wait for DD to tell me she's in the mood for meatballs and then I tell her I'm willing to buy the ingredients and make the sauce if she's willing to make the meatballs. And then I buy a family size pack of 5 lbs of ground meat and we make enough meatballs to freeze a few meals worth. 😃

I love this recipe!
Got it from a family member:
Meatballs:
In a pan add
A jar marinara sauce
4 heaping tbs duck sauce or brown sugar*
Put meat in bowl
Add:
egg
Big squirt ketchup
Sprinkle in Garlic powder
2-3 tbs breadcrumbs/ corn flake crumbs
Heart up sauce for 15 min*
Mix meat
Roll into balls
Add sauce
Bake for an hour and a half on 350
*I put the sauce in a 9x13 pan and just add brown sugar into the sauce and mix it well with a fork instead of heating the sauce up to dissolve the sugar or duck sauce

If you want a recipe without any sugar this is what I do.
I grate a small onion and some parsley together (sometimes I'll saute an onion too).
I also grate a sweet potato and zucchini, sometimes a carrot too. (I've also cut them up and boiled and then mashed into the mixture instead.)
I use half ground chicken and half ground beef.
Mix it all together with salt and pepper. Add some sauce as well. (Costco has sold sauces without any sugar)
Sorry I don't have measurements.
My kids love it!

Meatballs! The children never know that they are eating veggies too!
1 family pack mixed grind
2 vidalia onions
2 large carrots
2 large potatoes
1 package onion soup mix
2 eggs
2 Tablespoons parsley
Salt and pepper
Grind all the veggies. Add the onion soup mix and add mixture to meat. Get your hands in there and mix well. Add eggs, parsley and salt and pepper. Get those hands going again. At this point you have two choices. Either fry the meatballs, or bake on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and spray them with olive oil. Either way, these are really good.

How many pounds is in a family pack? I want to scale the recipe back for a smaller amount of meat. Thanks!
