Hi! looking for Book recommendations for 14/16 year old girls. They don’t enjoy reading so preferably easy reads that are well written and captivating. (16 year old enjoys holocaust stories.. dislikes fiction) Any ideas would be appreciated. Tia

Hidden by Rochel Istrin is fiction but in the time of the Holocaust and an excellent, captivating read
Search for the Lost Children maybe?

What does your 14 year old like?

Do they like short stories?

Yes! I think that’s better . As the thought of tackling a long book overwhelms them. They have zero reading comprehension issues and are both great students academically. I’m not sure why the fight to read honestly Banging head

My oldest is extremely bright. Been reading adult level books since he was 7 or 8. Still prefers short stories just like he did then. He just doesn't like escaping life for a long time via fiction. That's ok!

Etka Gitel Schwartz's Caravan is excellent for creative writing

There are the more typical Seltzer, Spero, Krohn, etc anthologies of embellished true stories

My son also likes Lifelines, Mountain Climbers and the other C.B. Weinfeld books about real people and their struggles...

Do any of those seem like they might work?

Maybe they would enjoy the older-style episodic novels (where each chapter was its own story) like Louisa May Alcott?

Caveat: some YA is digusting (worse than adult) and Piercy Jackson apparently has several passages including one peeping tom thing
My 13 liked lotr and narnia
