Upstate, Florida, out of country ones? If they are still happening, that's more trouble in store for us, and not just for NYC communities.

I'm not from NY or Florida, but unless there is a legal ruling against them, I'd imagine they are still taking place.

I was actually shocked to see an ad for one in Europe!

I mean, are they even requiring test results? What prevents families with positive members enjoying themselves there?

I guess it's attend at your own risk. Caveat emptor, right?

At least the local schools in my community are doing distance learning for 2 weeks after sukkos. So hopefully if anyone picks something up while traveling for Yom tov or gets exposure from guests, it will cut down on the spread to others. Probably all schools and yeshivas should do this.

Just saying, that living in Israel, where we are all in lockdown, hearing about Sukkot getaways seems a bit much.

I don't actually know anyone going to one. And I've barely seen any ads. Not saying they aren't happening. But not on any grand scale.

Nothing. It's called evolution.

We don't need a getaway; we are already in Eretz HaKodesh! And anyone who wants to go to a hotel can go for ten days at the government's expense, if they have a positive Corona test.

But it does seem rather like a different world to hear people talking of it.

Speak for yourself! I can use a getaway (w/in Eretz HaKodesh). Smile

So get a positive Corona test, and I'll be happy to arrange a hotel for you!

Lol. I guess that I should just look at the grassy hill behind my building and imagine that it is a mighty mountain.

Not my idea of a getaway.

You realize that mask wearing and no large communal eating/gathering rooms would make a getaway safe. As you see, NYs positivity rate is still low.

Some schools have said it you travel to a red zone you will have to wait 14 days before returning.
Our school said they don’t have a rule but reserve the right to change that at any time.
