Does anyone else get this? I've had it since I started fasting when I was 12.

After a fast I'm starving and can't wait to dig in, but the roof of my mouth feels really sore so I end up just eating a little bit slowly and not really enjoying it. The next day things are back to normal.

Yes. Me. It’s like the roof of the mouth gets pulled out of the socket (that’s how I describe it even though I know there’s no such thing). I discovered that if I drink first. A warm drink and then a few cooler drinks and then dig in slowly into my food it’s not as bad. But I have this after every fast too.

It’s from dehydration.
Start with lots of water or warm tea. Drink lots and lots slowly.

I've never had that, but today I have tooth pain before the fast. I'm planning on taking painkillers after the Seudah haMafseket, and hoping that tomorrow with nothing in my mouth to stimulate it, the pain will stay off. This year may well start with a visit to the dentist. Under lockdown. Between the chagim. Not happy.

Yes. I have it too, after every fast. It doesn't last long though.
It goes away a few minutes after I eat and drink something.
