I've heard of the name Trana. Not sure if it is Yiddish or from another language but eventually became a Jewish name.
The other one, no idea. Obviously some sort of nickname but I've never heard of it.

No. It's pronounced Tronny with a short " o". Rhymes with Bonnie.

They don't.
It's just that if the person is going to be dealing with anyone who is a native English speaker, they should be prepared to get some odd looks.
My middle name is Gaye, and I've gotten no end of misery from it.
