Is NY state strict about the quarantine laws when you come in from a state on their blocked list? Like other countries (canada) that come knocking on your door to check on you.
Or is it just a big joke?

They're not very strict about it but they can decide to call your house or show up at your door. I know several people that got phone calls to verify that they're home and if they didn't pick up, someone showed up at their door.
But please please don't be selfish and do quarantine if you travel from a state on the quarantine list. As long as people do as they please, the longer it will take to stop the spread.
