Hi ladies

You were all so helpful with the book deliveries I thought I'd ask my next question. DD is in need of a power strip. She only has one outlet in her dorm. What type of stores carry these? She's limited to Bayit Vegan right now though I think they said something about taking her to osher ad.

Every single hardware store.
No need to go to osher ad. that's like going to Costco to buy a battery.
Her eim habayit or madricha should know where the local hardware store is

Thank you! How does one say power strip in Hebrew?

The hardware store is also on HaPisgah, not too far from the post office. (No, I don't live in Bayit v'Gan. But I did at one time.)

I've never actually tried asking for one in Hebrew. Maybe רב שקע?

שקע is outlet. I just use hand gestures Smile
She will most likely see it if she looks around for a minute in the hardware store. It's not an obscure item. But she can say שקע and gesture something long. The guy will figure it out.

When ordering from I herb for my daughter in seminary I am using box it or DHL and both are asking for an ID or passport number and saying there is a customs declaration and that they need to show their passport number to collect it. The delivery is under $75. She's in a dorm. Will they really make her come down and check her passport number? I'm afraid she'll be in class and it won't happen.

Yes, I have to show ID when I pick up packages.

We're supposed to have to show ID but b'foel everyone knows everyone here, so they rarely ask. They just want to see the text so they know which package to look for.

That may be dependent on where you live. OP's daughter will very likely get asked to show ID if the pickup place guy has never met her.

I thought it was being delivered directly to her dorm and not to the post office. Doesn't dhl or box or deliver right to the address and not the post office?

BoxIt delivers to a drop off point. Could be the post office, a makolet, or someplace else.

If you want it delivered all the way to her dorm, choose DHL delivery to the door (or whatever they call it).
They may leave it at the door or they may call her and ask for ID, no way to know for sure.

DHL might deliver it to the door.

Boxit has pickup locations you need to go to, they do not deliver to you.

Places that specifically deliver women's clothing??
Of the clothing delivery places are there any that have free return shipping?
OR does that not exist in Israel.

Mark's & Spencer.

Free delivery over 220NIS, but returns at your own expense. I don't think there is such a thing as free returns including international postage.

If I had something to return I used to be able to find someone travelling to England and ask them to drop it in at the nearest shop, but that option isn't really available now. Sometimes I can sell it on, on a local email or WhatsApp group, and get most of the money back that way.
