There was something similar a short while ago about lukshen kugel. One reply was to invite guest to add salt. And that caused a whole commotion here.

I’d recommend to just tell everyone to add to their portion. Best if they mash it first so the salt should be equally distributed all over.

Mix A cup of boiled water with the salt and pour it over the kugel. Bake it for 20 minutes on 250 or so.

Wow. Glad I opened this for the overnight suggestion. Here's what I was going to say: Bake chicken legs on top of it and it will absorb some great flavor.

I was the op of the lukshen kugel. Well it just so happened in the same week with potato kugel too. It was a misunderstanding between dd and I. I ended up doing with the chicken legs. I put onions on top of the kugel, chicken on top, spiced it, and covered it really well. Lemme tell you, I'm about to make the mistake more often. It was DELICIOUS!
