I was wondering why PA has such a high positivity rate.
In Pittsburgh you can get a test if you've been exposed or you have slight congestion. I don't know if you can take one if you have no known exposure and zero symptoms but most people don't test in that scenario anyway.

Since I'm in this thread does anyone know the wait time for testing at urgent care? The school is asking that everyone test Sad

There’s a place on county line and Kennedy somewhere near Lexington (an old KFC) that has tests but I don’t know if they’re rapid or PCR

Many people test without symptoms-thats how they find out that people are asymptomatic.

The bolded are contradictory.

We wanted to test to make sure we don't bring anything to our parents.

There are many who tested before going to a specific minyan/location for Yom tov.

Some schools and work places insist on testing before joining/rejoining

Thanks everybody!

We got the 48 hour test yesterday, will go to CHEMED this morning for the rapid.

I'm not sure who earned the cookies after Notsobusy... If you feel you were the first with the CHEMED suggestion, PM me for cookies!

For the rest of you, here's the recipe: the original called for 1/2 cup of shredded coconut. We don't like coconut and subbed white choc chips. We've also added crushed score bars with awesome results. We usually double this recipe, it's kinda small.

1 cup flour
1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
1⁄4 teaspoon baking powder
1⁄4 teaspoon salt
1⁄2 cup butter (or crisco)
1⁄2 cup white sugar
1⁄2 cup brown sugar, packed (we often use all brown sugar)
1 egg
1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup Rice Krispies
1 cup quick-cooking oats
White choc chips

Cream the butter and sugars, mix in the eggs and vanilla, throw in the rest, bake!

We like to bake cookies on high so the edges are crisp, insides are mushy, but to each their own.

Just so you know, the lines by Chemed have been over an hour long. They are doing the tests from the tent in the parking lot. About a week ago there was news that Chemed will only be doing the rapids from now on. Then they put up the outdoor tent and I see long lines every day. Be prepared for the long wait.

Thanks for letting me know. We were told that the tent opens at 9, and were planning on being there at 8:30. Think we should go earlier???

DVOM, can you let me know if the Chemed test was just at the tip of the nostrils? Or was it up the nose and in the throat? Thanks
