My husband did until I decided that’s it and I started making it. I think he’s secretly relieved, he used to spend so long seasoning it, trying it, adjusting the seasoning, babying it..

DH loves cholent and generally it will be him who makes it (we don’t have it every week and then mostly in the winter and I always serve another main dish), but I know how to make a good cholent too. Cholent and eggs are basically the only things he cooks (does BBQ count). The thing is that DH makes cholent for kiddushim and when we have guests (he’s even done it for family and friends Simchas), so a lot of people are sure he’s the main cook in the house 🙄🙄🙄 while as I wrote earlier his repertoire is pretty limited, but he does clean and wash dishes so it totally evens out.
Oh yes, of course DH babysits the cholent all Shabbat until it’s serves, including waking up in the middle of the night to see how it’s doing. Sautés the meat she onions etc etc. He teases me when I make it and just leave it. Of course he uses a b million seasonings and spices and makes a HUGE deal about, I don’t think it actually come out better than mine.
And yes, I find myself doing the chopping and soaking and peeling. He treats making cholent like a hobby, while I treat it like making food.

Neither - neither of us likes cholent, so we skip it. My mother used to make it for years until she realised that almost no one liked it and there was always too much left over, so she started buying a small one each week for those that want.

We stopped making it. Nobody likes it, half the family is vegetarian anyway, and it's not particularly healthy.

I make it. DH fixes it when I go to take a shower. He improves it, so I look the other way and don’t ask what he added.

I used to make it, and then one week my husband made it in the morning before heading off to work, and I was so appreciative that he just continued doing it He also cooks the eggs.
