There are way more real chassidishers on Imamother than chassidish-lite??? |
This would be the first time I've come across the word chassidisher.
It only makes no sense if you don't understand the mindset of chassidish vs lite.

I think charedi is different than yeshivish.
Wouldn't consider myself yeshivish.

Pretty sure it’s an imamother creation.
But it works for me - my kids go to yeshiva and Bais Yaakov, but we watch movies, my husband wears jeans, colored shirts... my son’s yeshiva allows colored shirts but black hats... I wear long wigs, my daughter doesn’t have to wear knee socks... and most of my children’s classmates are the same. So there’s like a diluted yeshivish hashkafa but we don’t follow an official MO derech.

Pretty sure it’s just Israeli vs American. If a yeshivish person moves to israel they’d likely send to charedi schools.

There is a very small percentage of chasidish lite people to begin with.

Doesn't have to be yeshivish. In Israel there are different categories- labels
Like chareidi, ultra chareidi- name? dati-leumi, chiloni, moshavniks, mizrachists, yerushalmis, breslovers, cone ladies don't know names, srugo kippas, tzioni, anti-zionist, kibutznicks etcs.
You left out some more
BT, neturei karta, moshichist, lev tahor, reform, conservative, traditional whatever there are so many different ways people identify, associate with.

Really? I see so many in Lakewood. Or maybe they’d be considered heimish?

This site isn’t for reform, conservative or traditional. And I think most BTs find themselves a group to belong to. Your labels are way too nuanced for the purpose of this poll (which was mostly to see if majority of the site is chassidish.. and so far it does seem that way!)

Most of my siblings are JPF. I was raised that way. My father is college-educated and worked to support his family, and was not at all pro-Kollel or supporting kids in Kollel (though some of his kids gravitated toward that.)
They are solidly frum, tznius, etc..with hashkafic level close to yeshivish, but they are not into the yeshivish Hashkafa of Kollel, etc...they married frum working boys. They send their kids to yeshiva-type yeshivos and BY schools, and some of their kids have become more yeshivish.
And they are definitely not MO.

A few of what you mentioned aren't derechs. They're qualifiers, like BT, meschichist, tzioni. JPF BT, yeshivish BT, etc etc. OP is asking about group affiliation/which group someone generally considers themselves.

Actually, I don't think so. There are so many differences in lifestyle between yeshivish here and chareidi there...
Not sure what community American yeshivish aligns with in EY that doesn't involve change of behavior/lifestyle at all.
