No judgement please.
I have a container of chicken soup I made before last Shabbos.
It has been sitting in my fridge untouched (I put half aside because I thought I would use for second day yom tov).
Can I use it for this Shabbos?

I wouldn’t. Next time stick it in the freezer.

Heard that if you boil it for 10 min it’s fine. No idea if it is so*, but I frequently pour the rest of my chicken soup in next weeks cholent so it’s been sitting in the fridge a week.

*guess it’s more on the taste than anything

I don't know if it's spoiled but it's not optimal. I wouldn't serve it.
No judgment, believe me, you don't know what's in my fridge. Cool

I've heard it supposed to be within 5 days but I have done it in the past. I make sure to bring it to a boil first.

Always put containers straight in the freezer. Super easy to reheat if you do choose to serve it the next day.
(Coming from someone who currently has a giant pot of chicken soup from last week in the fridge)

Depends on how cold your fridge is. The pundits say not to; I always do, but I also always reboil the soup. I don't just heat it up to "warm" but bring it to a full rolling boil for several minutes (and while I'm at it I usually add a few more vegetables). Of course if it smells or looks suspicious, out it goes.

I'm surprised that I'm the only one who always uses my chicken soup for 2 weeks.
I made a huge pot today and will use it again for next shabbas as well. This way I only need to make soup twice a month! My entire family agrees it even tastes better the 2nd week since it's cooked even longer.
I've been doing this for years.

I cook enough for a month at a time but I freeze it. You can easily defrost and rewarm each week and it tastes delicious.

So smart. Unfortunately, I don't have much extra freezer space Sad

You're not. It does help if you reboil during the week.
