The opposite. I always wonder if something is wrong with me when my friends complain how busy they are...

Please share how you finish making shabbos on time lets say.. are you the type to start shopping on Wednesday?

How about dinner? Do you wake up early to cook ?

I’m not. When I’m rushing it’s because something out of my control went off schedule. It does happen somewhat often because I have little kids lol but I do my best to plan for it and be proactive to prevent too much craziness.
For shabbos - yes I shop Wednesday, cook Thursday, clean Friday. Leaving hours to spare before Shabbos for the inevitable last minute crises. Dinner I do super quick stuff and prep it either when my husband is watching the kids or when one is napping, etc. I shop once a week and never run out to the store for a missing ingredient, etc. We have routines for morning and night that aren’t militant but I know that by 7:30 sharp my kids will be in bed after a calm bedtime. I’m also good with time management and can juggle a few things to make sure everything happens with the right timing so there’s no rushing (in the absence of tantrums, poopy diapers, lost keys, etc). In general, planning ahead is key.
I’m definitely busy but not frantic!

Ugh my husband is like this. He is always running late and always stressed. He’s a terrible time manager (who thinks he’s a good one)

I use to be like this
I started telling myself that things start earlier
In my mind Shabbat is always 1 hr earlier.
That extra hr I take for myself.Drink a coffee and just relax.
My kids are all grown now, but when they were younger those that were prepared early got toamecha.
The only thing that is last minute is to put the food in the pre- heated oven and blech

Yes, but the treadmill is slowing down:)
I’ve found that a lot of rushing is in my head. My life is actually quite full BH but the fact is, there will always be a million things on my to- do list, no matter how much I manage to squeeze in. And coming late or missing deadlines just makes me more stressed out.
So I’ve started making lists and prioritizing things, trying to minimize multitasking. Setting realistic goals that account for inevitable interruptions. But the main thing is that I’ve lowered my expectations of myself- and ironically enough, it hasn’t lowered my productivity.
My new motto in life is “lo alecha hamilacha ligmor..”

Yes, always more to do then time in the day.
But as I occasionally remind myself- I've had the opposite at earlier stages in life- not enough to do, and knowing myself I definitely prefer to be too busy over not busy enough.

Not so much any more now that I'm an empty nester, but when I had young children, a dh who worked away from home roughly 18 hours a day plus weekends (I'm talking leaving home motzaei shabbat to go to work and come back sunday evening) and worked F/T out of the house with an hour commute each way, the clock absolutely ruled my life. I had to be so organized it was scary.

I deliberately set my life up in a way that I’m not constantly harried. I don’t do well with that lifestyle. I still have lots of responsibilities, and thinking about them makes me plenty anxious, but I have plenty of downtime too.

Yes, but it's my personality.

As others have said, life is always busy. You don't HAVE to be rushed. It's a mindset more than anything.

I've gotten way better at it.

- Planning Ahead
- Being realistic
- put away my phone so I'm more focused
